    Parkside Annual Appeal

    Our Annual Appeal

We are proud of what we have accomplished and know there is more to do in 2018!

Without faithful Parkside residents like you, the work we do would not be possible. For those of you who have generously completed community service, come out in support of our events, and financially contributed, we are so grateful.

If you've enjoyed our many community events and campaigns, sent your children to our Summer Arts Camp, or if you simply appreciate being a part of a community that cares for its neighbors, please consider making a tax-deductible, year-end gift to the PCA's Annual Appeal.

The work we do this year, and every year for the past 55 years, would not have been possible without the support and generosity of people like you, and for that, we thank you.

    20th Annual Tour of Homes

We are recruiting houses for the Parkside Tour of Homes!
    Sunday, May 20, 2018

Every year the Parkside Tour of Homes invites people from the city, suburbs, and even Toronto and Rochester to visit our neighborhood. It's a chance for us to show off a little, share our unique slice of Buffalo, and raise money for PCA efforts throughout the year.

The PCA Tour of Homes Committee is hard at work planning our event for 2018, and we still have room on our roster for a more homes - including yours, hopefully!

We'd be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have, and even put you in touch with homeowners in the neighborhood who have had their homes on the tour in the past. If you're thinking about being a part of the line up, please get in touch at pcadirector@gmail.com or call 716-838-1240.

    Quality of Life Committee Update

Efforts to Expand Access to NYS Historic Homeownership Rehabilitation Tax Credit

In January of 2018, The PCA sent the below linked letter to Assembly members Crystal Peoples-Stokes and Sean Ryan to express our support for expanded access to the New York State Historic Homeownership Rehabilitation Tax Credit Program to all of Parkside. It is currently restricted by census tract to the areas indicated on the above map, which excludes much of Parkside.

To view the letter submitted by the PCA, please click HERE.

Parkside is already designated as a Historic District in the National Register, but all of the benefits of this designation have not yet been extended. The biggest benefit would be to homeowners who would have access to the New York State Historic Homeownership Rehabilitation Tax Credit. Work on the residential structures may qualify for tax credits, which would cover 20% of qualified rehabilitation costs, up to $50,000 in tax credits.

If you would like to sign on to support this effort, please click HERE.

    PCA Traffic Committee Update

Has Winter Been Rough on Your Sign?

We still have a few traffic signs in the office if you would like to replace a damaged sign, and participate in this campaign to make our streets safer. We would be happy to accept a donation if you are willing to make one.

These signs have gotten the attention of the media, as well as drivers and residents who are frustrated by the constant barrage of traffic infractions throughout our neighborhoods.

Signs may be picked up, and donations may be made at the PCA office, 2318 Main Street.

In China, each lunar cycle has 60 years and 12 years is regarded as a small cycle. Each of the 12 years is defined by an animal sign: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. 2018 is the Year of the Dog.
