Garden Tour is Sunday June 24th

  gardenThis Sunday, June 24th the PCA is hosting the 15th annual   Parkside Garden Tour.   The Tour is part of the National  Garden Festival scheduled to run from June 23rd through the 29th throughout neighborhoods in Western NY.
 
Maps of participating homes will be made available at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd (96 Jewett Parkway), as well as the Lodge in Delaware Park for a suggested donation of $5.  

 

There will also be an engaging audio/visual presentation by Parkside resident and author, Steve Cichon. He will introduce visitors to the historic background of Parkside, touching on significant people and events that were milestones in both Parkside and the City of Buffalo. The presentation is free and will be offered at 10:30am and again at 12:30pm in Jewett Hall at the Church of the Good Shepherd.

 

Following that, George Stock, a long-time Parkside resident, will take you on a personal walking tour, pointing out the many architectural highlights integrated into the homes of Parkside. Those tours will be available for $10 per person at noon and 2 pm. The tour will begin just outside of the Church of the Good Shepherd.


In addition, from 10-6 that day, the Olmsted Conservancy in Conjunction with the National Garden Festival, will be hosting a special Garden Art Sale offering outdoor sculpture, bird baths, decorative pots and other items of interest. During the Art Sale, the The Plant Society at the Olmsted Conservancy will be hosting meetings of all eight of the specialist plant Societies that meet locally as well as the Erie County Master Gardeners and the Botanical Gardens.  Representatives of each Society will be available throughout the day to show off there favorite plants and answer your questions concerning their care and cultivation. Some plants will be for sale.
