As part of an ongoing effort to make our history more available to long term residents and new comers alike, we have compiled and posted a series of Sanborn maps, from 1900, 1916, and 1935. For those not familiar with them, Sanborn Maps were originally created for assessing fire insurance liability in urbanized areas throughout the country. The maps include detailed information regarding town and building information in approximately 12,000 U.S.
The Parkside Community Association will hold a 5-K Run on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 5 pm in Delaware Park along the ring road. There will be a children's dash at 4:50 pm.
Following the race there will be an Oktoberfest celebration at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 7 pm that will include an awards ceremony.

Shake off those winter blues and start planning your Spring home improvement projects. Take some time on Saturday March 9th to visit our bi-annual Parkside Contractors Fair. A variety of trades people will be on hand to assist you in planning and budgeting your project, as well as offer some ideas on how to preserve the value of your historic homes.
Lenders will also be available to answer any questions you might have about financing your project. In addition, staff from PUSH Buffalo will present their Green Energy program, available to all City residents.
If you or somebody you know is a parent of an infant or toddler, and could use an excuse to get out of the house for a cup of coffee, or just to meet other local parents then consider stopping by the next Parkside Parents Meet-up.
Local parents will be meeting regularly at FairyCakes Cupcakery 289 Parkside Avenue on Thursday mornings at 10:00am.
