Movies in the Meadows this week: Young Frankenstein

The last film of the summer for the PCA's Movies in the Meadow series takes place this Friday, August 31 at sundown (approximately 8:15 pm) outside the Lodge in Delaware Park.  Popcorn and drinks will be available, but picnics are encouraged.  All films are free and open to the public, though donations are always appreciated.

This coming Friday August 24th the PCA presents a free showing of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as part of our 2012 Movies in the Meadow series. The show will begin at sundown in front of the Parkside Lodge at approximately 8:30 pm. We hope to see you there.  Call the PCA at 838-1240 for further details.

Movies in the Meadows starts this Friday with Casablanca!

The first film of the 2012 Movies in the Meadows series begins this Friday Aug. 3 with Casablanca showing at dusk. This event is free and open to the public. Outdoor films will be shown each Friday in August. Bring a date, bring the kids.

Focus on Architecture Exhibit at the PCA Office

As part of the Open House / Ribbon Cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of construction at the PCA offices at 2318 Main Street on Thursday at 2pm, local resident and former Curator for the Burchfield Penny, Gerald Mead, has loaned us a series of pieces depicting architecture in Buffalo.  They range from a 1940s painting by James Vullo of a Victorian home in the city to a 2011 photograph by Christina Laing depicting the interior of one of Buffalo’s famed grain elev

2nd Annual Chili Cook-off was big success!

Last Saturday the 4th, we were amazed at the number of residents and PCA members that turned out for our 2nd Annual Parkside Chili Cook-off.  We saw approximately 80 people stop by to sample some or all of the 13 entries on hand.
