    Information from the Community

    Buffalo Marathon is this weekened!

Marathon starts at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 26th.  I'd expect the first runners around 8 a.m. and many still passing through well past 9:30 a.m.
    About the route:
Mile 17: into Delaware Park at Meadow, continuing counterclockwise around the Ring Road.
Leaving park onto Jewett at Mile 18, and east on Jewett, left on Crescent.
Right on Amherst, left on Starin, etc., left on Hertel, left on Colvin.  Back into the park at Mile 20.5 (ish).
Counterclockwise around Ring Road and out onto Meadow at Mile 21 and out of our neighborhood.
Certain intersections are closed anywhere from 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the Ring Road is closed except for Zoo traffic.

Elder Law Day is a free event open to the public which aims to provide up-to-date legal information on issues important to older adults and their caregivers. The day includes legal presentations by attorneys and experts on numerous legal issues such as, patient rights and advocacy, Medicaid & Medicare, estate and advance care planning, and more. Participants can also register for a free 15-minute, one-on-one consultation with a private attorney, and receive expert advice from community agencies tabling throughout the event.

Interested attendees are encouraged to register ahead of time at erie.gov/ELD. Those who are registered will receive a free lunch, raffle tickets for a basket raffle and a reusable canvas bag with program materials inside.

This free event is hosted by the Erie County Department of Senior Services and Center for Elder Law & Justice. For more information and to register, visit: https://elderjusticeny.org/event/elder-law-day/

The NYS Historic Tax Credit was expanded as part of the NYS budget. This now means that considerably more properties in the neighborhood are eligible for the credit. Apply here!

Unfortunately the Vernon Triangle and the homes around Medaille College are not included but the PCA has been working to expand the designation to include these two parts of the neighborhood.
