City Engineering Garage | 1120 Seneca Street Buffalo, NY 14210

The City of Buffalo is accepting natural trees, free of decoration/tinsel, where it will be chipped on site at the City Garage. Residents can take chips with them for re-use as mulch.

Also accepted are, electronics, computers, printers, toner cartridges, computer accessories, televisions, tablets, scanner, audio equipment, video equipment and circuit boards, holiday lights, styrofoam (white, bulk and clean), clothing and textiles. Call 311 for more information or visit their website.

"The City will also have curbside collection of naturally grown "Christmas" trees.  The collection is scheduled to last from January 2 to January 13, 2017 on residents' scheduled garbage day.

To participate in this collection, city residents are asked to place trees out on their curb before a scheduled garbage pickup and to not place them in garbage bags. Although they are scheduled on the same days, trees will be picked up separately from garbage, so city residents should not be concerned if they are left behind after garbage removal."

    Fun Facts!

In 1983 President Ronald Reagan signed a bill that created a federal holiday to honor Martin Luther King Jr.. The holiday, first commemorated in 1986, is celebrated on the third Monday in January, close to the civil rights leader’s January 15 birthday. George Washington is the only other American to have had his birthday observed as a national holiday.
