    Please Join Us in Support of the Annual Tour of Homes as a Neighborhood Patron

     Would you like to show your support of the Tour of Homes? Every year neighbors all over Parkside purchase a Patron Listing in the tour booklet supporting the work of the Tour committee and the PCA. The cost for the listing is $50 and 100% goes to support the work of the Parkside Community Association.

    Please see our website to fill out the form with your contact information and how you'd like your Patron Listing to appear in the tour booklet. You will be prompted for an online payment after completing the order.

    If you'd like to pay by check, you may download and print our paper form. Please send the form and payment to:

    Tour of Homes Volunteer and Docent Opportunity

    Thursday, April 27, 2017 | 6-8PM
    Eleanor and Wilson Greatbatch Pavilion | 125 Jewett Parkway, Buffalo, NY 14214

    If you are interested in helping us put on our PCA signature event of the year, please let us know! We are in need of many volunteers. As a bonus for joining in our efforts, all volunteers will be provided free admission to the Tour of Homes and a post tour appreciation party.

    There will be two volunteer shifts the day of the tour: 11AM-1:45PM & 1:45-4:30PM.

    A Docent Training session will be held at the the Eleanor and Wilson Greatbatch Pavilion on the Martin House Complex site, Thursday, April 27th, from 6-8 PM.

    If you would like to volunteer, please contact the PCA office (716-838-1240 or PCAdirector@gmail.com) with which shift you would like to be scheduled to work. 

    19th Annual Tour of Homes

    Every year the Parkside Tour of Homes invites people from the city, suburbs, and even Toronto and Rochester to visit our neighborhood. It's a chance for us to show off a little, share our unique slice of Buffalo, and raise money for PCA efforts throughout the year. 

    Tickets available at the Parkside Community Association office, 2318 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14214, or on our website: HERE.

    Day-of ticket sales will be at the Darwin Martin House complex, 125 Jewett Parkway, Buffalo, NY 14214.

    Tour is open to children 12 and older. This is a rain or shine event.

    Vernon Triangle Clean Up

    Spring is finally here! It's time to start shinning up corners of the neighborhood.     Church of the Good Shepherd Food Pantry is Looking for Volunteers

    96 Jewett Pkwy, Buffalo, NY 14214 | 716-833-1151
    Wednesdays 10AM-2PM

    The Church of the Good Shepherd Food Pantry serves approximately 667 people each month in the 14214, 14215 and 14216 zip codes- the equivalent of almost 72,000 meals per year! They are currently in need of volunteers. They welcome all who would like to come in and help out anytime on Wednesdays from 10:00-2:00. If you would like to volunteer, come by during those times and introduce yourself. The Food Pantry is in the Church basement, with the entrance on the Summit Ave side of the Church.

     Tire Drop-off Event

    City of Buffalo residents only, may drop off a maximum of four tires. Tires must be clean and off the rim. Tires may be dropped off at the Broadway Garage, 197 Broadway, between 7:30AM and 3PM. FOr more information please call the city at 311.

     Frederick Law Olmsted's 195th Birthday

    The Frederick Law Olmsted legacy endures in the 6,000 landscapes he, Calvert Vaux and [Olmsted’s] sons [designed] across the United States and Canada. It endures as well in Buffalo, where Olmsted created a city within a park, a concept later repeated in Boston and elsewhere. It shapes the city he … called 'The Best Planned in America.’ (Frederick Law Olmsted: Designing Western New York, 2015). Watch the full PBS documentary here.

    Sat. 4/29: Colon Cancer Alliance - Buffalo Undy Run and Walk, 9 a.m. start to 11 a.m. Ring Road to Jewett to Woodward to Robie to Crescent to Jewett and back onto the Ring Road.
