    20th Annual Garden & Architecture Tour

    Sunday, June 25, 2017 | 10AM-4PM
    Hillside Children's Center | 70 Jewett Parkway, Buffalo, NY 14214

    Tour the local gardens nestled between the beautiful homes of the Parkside neighborhood, the suburb designed by Olmsted in 1870, during the 20th Annual Parkside Garden and Architecture Tour on Sunday, June 25th from 10 AM to 4 PM. The self-guided tour begins in the heart of the Parkside community, at Hillside Children's Center, 70 Jewett Parkway, at the corner of Crescent Avenue. A full color map and garden directory for this self-guided tour will be available for $5 on the day of the tour. The maps will direct you to the highlighted gardens.

    An Explore Buffalo, guided architectural tour is also available for $15/person. Tours depart at 9:30AM and 10:30AM from Hillside Children's Center, 70 Jewett Parkway.

    Register Your Parkside Garden and Sign Up Your Youth for a Lemonade or Cookie Stand!

    20th Annual Parkside Garden and Architecture Tour

    Registration Deadline is TODAY, Friday, June 16

    Be a part of our 20th Annual tour of local gardens nestled between the beautiful homes in the Parkside neighborhood, the suburb designed by Olmsted in 1870. Gardens are all different shapes and sizes and can be found on porches in containers, as raised vegetable beds, shady plots under mature trees, lining a fence, ornamental, and so much more.

    Children can bring a refreshing element to the garden tour this year by registering a Lemonade or Cookie stand that will be featured on the map. Help make our 20th Annual the best ever!

    The PCA Garden Committee is looking for a few more hands to help with the 20th Annual Garden and Architecture Tour.      MAP Mobile Market - A Farmers Market on Wheels!

    The Mobile Market is stocked with a variety of seasonal fruits, vegetables, and eggs sourced from our farm on the West Side and other local farmers. Naturally grown or certified organic produce is sold whenever possible, and prices are generally lower than local grocery stores. They accept SNAP, both WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks, cash, and credit. The Double Up Food Bucks and Fresh Connect programs allow SNAP recipients to maximize their purchases even further. MAP partners with Eat Smart New York to provide recipes, food samples, and nutrition information to Mobile Market customers.

     Let's Do This! - Everyone Wins When We Recycle

    Everyone wins when you recycle and, in Buffalo, city block Clubs have the opportunity to win prizes for their neighborhood simply by taking part in Let’s Do This! Let’s Do This! is a fun and friendly recycling competition between block clubs Citywide. To encourage recycling, Mayor Byron W. Brown and the City of Buffalo are asking each registered City of Buffalo Block Club to grow their recycling participation over a four week period. 



    • Any block club registered in the City of Buffalo is eligible to compete in the contest.
    • Fill out an application and “Wish List” to register your City of Buffalo Block Club
    • Applications must be received by June 17, 2017

    • Only Green Totes that contain recyclables will be counted

    For the 111th time since 1890, the Church of the Good Shepherd will host a Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 24 from 3-6 p.m. Enjoy fresh (never frozen!) berries, ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, a banjo band, basket raffle, and lawn games (in Jewett Hall if raining).
