We are very grateful for the support received at the opening of our market series on Sunday August, 20. We will see you all, and more, in September.

Volunteers Needed for PCA Aging in Place Programs

The PCA keeps a resource page on our website for our senior residents. Information available includes community resources and social services, as well as information on two Parkside initiatives, Snow Angels and Door-to-Door Transportation.

Our Door-to-Door Transportation program is in high need of volunteers to help with driving. If you could give a couple hours of your time once a month, please reach out, PCAdirector@gmail.com or 716-838-1240. We need you please!

    Parkside Pennants!

Want to show off your Parkside Pride? We know, of course you do! The PCA has a wide variety of logo apparel, household items, and cards in our online store. Most recently we worked with Oxford Pennant, a local merchant, to produce Parkside Pennants!

Pennants are now available for sale through our website, and we can provide free Parkside neighborhood delivery, or you may pick up in our office, 2318 Main Street.

Parkside Architecture & Historic Database Project

This past spring the PCA began an exciting new project, the mission of which is to collect architectural and historical information about the built environment in the Parkside neighborhood of Buffalo. This will be helpful for our neighborhood historians and for our walking tours, and perhaps the Tour of Homes, and for the Garden and Architecture Tour.

The first step is data collection. If you have researched your home, have stories about previous owners or the history that took place in your house, or know about the architect or something about the changes made to your home over time, that is something we would love to know too.

We would love to welcome neighborhood volunteers—especially those of you who have a particular interest in history and architecture, of course, but also if you just want to learn more and contribute.

If you want to participate in this project, submit information through our webform, or contact the PCA, 716-838-1240PCAdirector@gmail.com

     Masten District Bulk Trash Week

    Sunday, August 27, 2017

A property is entitled to place out for collection up to 3 feet high, 3 feet wide & 12 feet long of bulk trash during the dates designated for your councilman district (Delaware District: September 24 | Masten District: August 27).

It is impossible to determine exactly when a garbage truck will be on your street during bulk trash pickup in your district, therefore you must set out your bulk trash only on the SUNDAY designated on your bulk trash schedule for your district.

The property owner is subject to a $52.50 fine for bulk trash that is set out prior to, or after, the Sunday designated on your bulk trash schedule and a $350 fine for trash in excess of 3 feet high, 3 feet wide & 12 feet long.

You don't have to wait to put out over sized items. Properties within the City of Buffalo are allowed to place out two (2) pieces of bulk trash for collection on their *regular collection day.* Bulk trash consists of those items that cannot be placed in the refuse container, and yard debris placed in clear bags. Examples of bulk trash include furniture, appliances, box of miscellaneous items, large toys, bundles of wood and brush (properly bundled), mattresses, box springs, etc. (For example: One couch and one 4 feet bundle of tree branches is considered two pieces of bulk trash). Please note that the doors must be removed from refrigerators to avoid injury to neighborhood children.

Residents are NOT permitted to place tube televisions, electronics, tires, paint cans, or other hazardous materials at the curb. Call 311 for information on how to dispose of these items responsibly.
